It's about time!

I'm about to head off to sleep! Sleep in my new awesome comfortable hammocks.

Slick red and BLACK hammocks. No pink, no prints, no stars no hearts and no cutesy cartoon frogs!

This is what I've been asking for! This is my super late Christmas/Birthday gift from Larissa.

Above you'll see a blur of red and black. In that blur is a pocket hammock, one large plush hammock and a small plush hammock. There is a sleepy sack, two beds, one ferret shaped pillow a blanket and even a tiny couch!

This is Larissa's favorite item. It's a tiny plush couch! She even made a tiny quilt and some throw pillows.

Isn't she insane?

This is the quilt to the left and the little throw pillows. The back of the quilt is red. Each pillow is red and black.

She really goes all out doesn't she?

Another red and black combo. This is a pillow in the shape of a ferret. Behind it is a tall plush bed she made out of filling fiber. The bottom is nice and thick and comfy too. I can't wait to ruin it.

Here is the top part of our cage. The pocket hammock and the largest plush hammock are both hung. You can see the blanket is on the level with the food bowls. The couch is behind the food bowls just waiting for Roland to drag back to the bottom level. I really like all this stuff, I just cannot believe it took her so long to make.

Finally, here is the whole cage. One of the beds is clipped to the bottom of the cage. She hopes this will encourage us to use the litter pan more often. Silly human, we only crap on the pan to annoy you! There is the sleepy sack on the level above the litter pan and the small square hammock. We don't use that one but Larissa made it anyone. I know I will probably store some toys there.

That's it! My bedding is finally done. I'm a happy ferret!

Time for bed.

Happy New Year!?

That's right, I'm FINALLY getting around to updating my blog! It's the 10th! I didn't post about Christmas or my birthday or even New Years!

I've been MEGA busy doing all kinds of ferret things. Ferret things like pooping outside the litter pan as soon as Larissa is done sanitize the cage pans.

I love to hear her moan and groan in frustration.

Sooner or later I want to post a little about my birthday goodies, a little about Christmas. ONE day I'd love to share my new cage with my internet fans! That's right, Larissa finally took a hint and got me lots of MANLY stuff. It's going to be a slick black and red bedding set. Everything from cage pan covers to pocket hammocks! She's really putting some effort into this. I don't expect anything less either since it was SUPPOSE to be for my BIRTHDAY!

AHEM!

BIRTHDAY!

Oh well, I forgive her. She has been working a great deal. Working to BUY me things!

This is a short post, for now I'll call it a night. Time to head back into the cage and curl up in a nice worn out hammock and have a snooze. I've got lots of pooping and scratching to do at dawn! How else will Larissa get up hours before she intended to on her first day off in a week?

Before I go, here I am sporting a t-shirt I got for Christmas. It's got a human skull printed on the back. Larissa likes bones and creepy things. I guess she got it MORE for her than for me, ya know? However I do look pretty tough and manly in the shirt so I don't mind it so much.

Can you tell I've been going to the gym?

Pink girly cage woes.

Larissa has been awfully sick recently. She even missed work. You know what that means!? She's going to make less money! How will she afford mountains of presents for my birthday? She better have a trick up her sleeve or else!

Little bit by little bit our cage gets spiffier and spiffier. Tonight she was feeling a bit better and wanted to sew. I went with her when she got new eyelets for hammocks. They worked out real well this time, I'm not ashamed to sleep in this hammock. I really like how she's got it set up in the top part of our cage. It looks almost like a trampoline!

You'll notice the cage is awfully...pink. Fizzy and pink comes to mind. Pink isn't even one of my favorite colors although Larissa tells everyone it is. I think she just likes the color and pushes it on me! How rude. I personally would really just LOVE a total set of black bedding. Cage pan covers, hammocks, a round bed and hammocks. All some kind of cool black fabric. No bright patterns or prints, nothing fuzzy and girly. No glitter and sparkles! I need man stuff. We're MEN!

Roland looks pretty depressed over the whole ordeal doesn't he? Purple stars and pink fleece?! This is a moral outrage! We won't complain too much. I know we're both awfully lucky little brats. In fact I rather like the newest hammock although again it's pink and girly. Frog fabric but so girly. Larissa has been using quilting batting in the middle of our hammocks making them extra plush. She wonders why I'm so lazy! I'm just so comfortable I don't want to get up, she ought to take it as a compliment. I still think the cage would look slick in all black. Perhaps even black and red! It would match my evil ferret soul.

Don't I look slick? My winter coat has giving me such a dashing look. As usual Larissa has a long boring video only this one isn't much on me! Madness I say. This is mostly Roland but I guess I'll post it here on MY blog anyway.

I don't have much else to say on this post. It's been cold and rainy non stop! Larissa tells me I might get to meet some big horses soon. I would like to. I love trying to climb into horse nostrils. They're so big and inviting. I met some horses last Thanksgiving but none of the pictures were very flattering to me. Hopefully this time around I will get some pictures of my good side with the horses. Maybe a video. Hopefully soon!

Till next time.

Ciao.

A late night post.

Larissa has really been slacking! She’s been so busy with work and projects she’s forgotten to log me in so I could update my journal.

She’s awfully lucky though. The last few days have been very uneventful. I’ve done some playing and some digging. The other day Larissa recorded some videos of Roland and I playing in the room our cage is kept.

I have particular places for particular things. You’ll see me putting away my favorite toys in this video. Don’t mind how fat I look. It’s just winter weight.

There is something on my mind right now. I’m so obsessive, it’s a ferret curse. There is a huge box in the next room over. It’s a room with a big rug and a saddle rack. I like to dance in this room because it’s wide and open and I don’t run into walls. Well today while I was dancing I ran into a big BOX! A big heavy box. It was duct taped shut, and it was CALKED shut. Can you believe how CRAFY human men can be? I guess the box is for Larissa. It’s making her bonkers too. She wants what’s INSIDE the box. I just want to BE inside the box.

Larissa watched me lay on my side and try to slide the box around. It wouldn’t budge! As thoughtful as she is, she went down in the basement and brought me up a smaller empty box. I did exactly what ferrets do. I was totally not interested in her offering. I want the box I cannot have.

Really I guess that’s all I’ve got for now. It’s been a slow few days. I’m still enjoying the new hammock and pillow set. It’s kept me snuggly warm at night.

It’s December 8th! Almost my birthday!

New hammocks and fan letters.

Dearest adoring fan Pam

The music playing on my video is a somewhat remixed song by a band called VAST. The song is called Goodbye. They're a good band, worth looking into. Flattery will get you everywhere with a ferret. Thanks for the compliments.

Pam was my very first comment on my new blog.

I don't have a great deal to talk about today. Larissa worked all day and tortured us with unforgivable cruelty. In other words, she didn't let us run around the house as soon as she got home. Instead she waited till her Man Unit went to have a nap. How terrible rude. Part of our duty is to annoy him the very best we can. Roland is by far a better annoyer than I am. I get bored easy. He's tedious. Sometimes I want to whap him. In my previous post I said I'd make a post about him. Really though I've had to share a hammock with his big head all day. I'm not in the mood to write about him.

To show how sorry she was for keeping us locked in our super huge comfortable roomy cage of UTTER DOOM, Larissa made a new hammock set for myself and Roland (I guess). As you can see she did a pretty decent job. It's a large hammock with quilting batting between the layers. Nice and plush. She also made a blanket and a pillow to match. Her friend Rachael sent her the colorful fabric and she used just about every inch. I tried to help her sew tonight, each time I'd lend a paw she'd pick me up and put me on the couch out of her way. Silly rude human.

I like the set though. It's all hanging nicely in my cage. Of course I had to share with Roland. While I was checking out the oh so destructible fleece Roland came plundering along and climbed in too. SIGH! I guess we can share this hammock for ONE NIGHT.

Have I mentioned I love December? Well I do. It means it's almost my birthday. I'll be five years old. My birthday is December 23rd. The best part about this is I get presents for my birthday and THEN I get more presents for Christmas. Last year a lot of ferrets sent birthday cards and Christmas cards to me though their humans. All of them members of a ferret group Larissa runs on livejournal.

One last photo of the hammock. I was posed oh so nice but Roland ruined it!

You know? I guess I'm going to vent a little about something that's been bugging me. This afternoon Larissa came home on her lunch break and let me run around. Roland got to come out too but he had to stay in the room. She was busy and he's a pain in the neck. I ran around the house and helped her do the dishes. I asked her why she comes home to clean on her lunch break but she didn't answer. Maybe she doesn't understand my accent? Well anyhow after she was done with the cleaning it was time to check computer stuff. Good thing too since there was a new member awaiting approval over at FA. A member of the community posted a photo of someone letting their ferret do something totally unacceptable. This so called human was letting her ferret drink out of her toilet.

Now being a ferret myself I understand the urge to SEE what is going on in there. Alas, I'm a ferret. My brain is tiny and I don't know what the heck that big white thing IS. If I knew it was a human litter box I wouldn't want to sniff around. However ferrets like myself don't KNOW what it is. Well this so called ferret owner took many photos of her ferret standing inside the bowl of her toilet, on the seat of her toilet. It was horrible. There was human waste stains on the seat (you humans are worse than us!) and the bowl itself was just gross! Made my paws itch from gross. I made the thumbnail very small since it's awfully disgusting. There is half a dozen or more photos. Personally I'd like to see the humans have a big drink out of their litter pans the way they are letting the ferrets drink.

Anyway I wanted to vent about that. It had been bothering me today making it hard to snooze away in my hammock.

Wow it's getting late! Larissa is going to bed. You know what that means? That means it's time to party and tap dance on my textured plastic pans of my cage!

Ta-ta!

Toad gets what Toad wants.

Today I convinced Larissa that I needed a new toy. I needed one! She didn't believe me though. So instead I dug my hammocks till the fleece fuzzed up. This reminded her she wanted to look for curtain hooks to use on new hammocks.

She was pretty happy to find out a pack of twelve was under two dollars. I just sat in my bag looking cute while she felt stupid for paying six dollars for a pack of twelve shower hooks. They are exactly the same too. Silly humans. I can't wait to see what kind of hammocks she'll make next. Personally I'd like a cube, but I don't think she's got the skills. I try to help but she usually fusses at me for being in her threads. Larissa ran into some people she worked with too. They all ohhhed and awwwhed over me. I'm so used to it now, I just cannot help being so cute. I look up and give them a sniff and they melt. Kills them every time.

See that crazy orange toys to the right? That's my newest toy. I've already found a proper place for him. The frog next to him was offered to me just the other day. Larissa is a thoughtful human. It's no wonder she's always broke. I accepted the offering gladly though. I tugged the fuzzy monster around for a while, but like normal I got bored with it pretty easy and put it away.
Larissa also made a video of me and my toys. She thinks it's grand fun to move my things around without asking. Drives me crazy!

Even when I get snatchy with my toys she'll still drag them out for her own amusement.

Yesterday I got some ice cream from Larissa. Don't tell Roland though, he doesn't know about it. Maybe tomorrow I'll make a post about my cage mate Roland. He's a bit on the dumb side but keeps things interesting.

Till then!

A new kind of weasel in town.

Hello Blogspot. I'm a ferret!

This is me.

My name is Toad Labenski. I'm a DEW. That means I'm white with black eyes. I'm not an albino. Although I'm often mistaken for one.

I'll be five years old on the 23rd of December. I expect many cards and presents from my fans.

In my free time (which is always) I like to sleep and poop outside of my litter pan. This annoys the heck out of my human slave Larissa. She just bought me a big fancy Ferret Nation cage as an early Christmas/Birthday gift. To show her how much I apprecaite her thoughtfulness I poop on the plastic pan of the cage instead of the litter pan. This is how us ferrets show we care.

I'm also a swell dancer. Larissa calls my slick moves "The Stevie Wonder Dance" on account of me flailing around and running into walls. That's just how I roll.

I do a great deal of different things to humor my owner Larissa. She likes to take photos of me in silly poses and different backgrounds. Then she prints them off and gives them away to people who don't usually want them but take them to humor her as well.

That's enough of an introduction. It's time to find a hammock to dig in and ruin. Larissa spends money and time crafting neat hammocks for me. Then I ruin them to show her I care.
